ANNUIT CŒPTIS TEE WORN BY JOHN LENNON (1980)


John Lennonが生前、実際に着ていたTシャツを蘇らせたWorn FreeのオフィシャルライセンスTシャツです。
付属しているステージバックパス風のステッカーにはJohn Lennonが実際に着ていたポートレートが使われており、いつどこでそれが着られていたのかが記されています。



[Annuit Cœptis / Novus Ordo Seclorum]
アメリカ合衆国のモットーを表していて、国璽の裏面や1ドル紙幣などに描かれている。

“Annuit Coeptis” and “Novus Ordo Seclorum” roughly translate, respectively as “He approves that which is undertaken”, and “New Order of the Ages”.

Along with the image of the incomplete pyramid and the “Eye of Providence” these mottos have been printed on the back of the American Dollar since 1935. Much to the delight of conspiracy theorists everywhere that claim this writing and symbol are a sign that the Illuminati are in control of America and the World. The Illuminati are a secret society founded on May 1st 1776.

Lennon was certainly not a fan of the establishment and spoke out against war and racial injustice, conspiracy theorists claim that because of this the Illuminati had John assassinated in 1980.

With regards to Lennon wearing this shirt, we think he probably just picked this tee up on Canal Street in New York and wore it for a laugh. Now you can too!
